Things that tick me off…

80% percent of the churches in America have either plateaud or are shrinking.

21% of people who have left the church claim they did so because it was full of hypocrites.

21% of people who have left the church claim they did so because they saw no reason to bother attending anymore. (has the church of America become that irrelavent?)

Goody, It seems to me churches are more a corporate business entity then a place to worship our Savior. I can see this throughout the church we currently attend. I’m not saying all are this way, but the focus of most churches I’ve attended have been financial gain. How can we serve God when greed is our motivation.

In response to Dans comment it does seem with some churches do speak on finances an excessive amount. One thing that is forgotten though is tha many of modern congregations have abdicated their responsibility to support those churches. Church bodies are a family ministry and the ministry cannot survive or thrive without money to pay the bills or to reah the needs of others. There only seems to be a faithful group within a church today that is committed to the needs of the church and until that changes, the call of finances will continue to bug us.
